We believe a story is more than information; it is a vessel. Every piece on Pastestore is selected for its weight, its texture, its refusal to be skimmed. We publish in long form because memory lives in the margins, not the metrics.
Our design honors the printed page: serif typography, generous whitespace, hand-set illustrations. The screen is our gallery, but the sensibility is print shop at midnight, with the radio murmuring and the kettle singing.

A single editor reads every submission. Nothing appears here without a hand-drawn margin note of why it matters.
Archive over algorithm
Our 401 stories are organized by theme and era, not by engagement. The library is the recommendation engine.
Slow publishing
We release new work in small, deliberate batches. Each piece is given the time it takes a galley proof to cool.
Ink is the memory of a hand that moved. Pastestore is the library where those memories still breathe between covers.
The curator's story
Pastestore began on a borrowed kitchen table, with a stapled zine and a subscription list of forty friends. The first issue, printed on a 1962 Roneo stencil duplicator, sold out in a week at the local bookshop.
Eight years later, the table has become a small studio of writers, designers, and researchers. We still answer every letter by hand. The ink, mercifully, has only gotten darker.
